Sainte-Catherine Street winterscape

The convenience store on Sainte-Catherine Street winterscape is coming along nicely. Here are photos of the two last two sittings. I’m very happy with it at this stage as we’re already beginning to get a good sense of the light. This is late January around 3:30 in the afternoon where it isn’t sunset yet, but the sun isn’t high up in the sky either, however, everything seems to get brighter around that time.

Oil painting in progress (Last sitting: March 9, 2012) This downtown Montreal depanneur is located on rue Sainte-Catherine E, in the centre-sud neighbourhood

Thanks Sue :) We have had unusually warm weather lately and I’m starting to lose the mood to paint a winter landscape. Thankfully, this one is almost completed.
